If you can hear the music, you are listening to "Country Roads" from The Midi Farm

My style is sophisticated country a little a touch of colonial
After my husband being in the Navy for 23 years and living in Base housing the majority of the time,I'm so pleased to announce that we are now FINALLY have a brand new home of our very own! I feel like I am starting all over again, and basically I am. Believe me, I don't mind one bit!
One of the first things I did after we bought home was to look at paint samples, decide on colours and then paint some of the rooms! Military housing is well known for their bland choices of wall colour! Any one in the Service will understand this

All of the framed artwork in my home comes from Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. Simply said, I like the quality of the products they offer for the cost
Each room has a different theme. My kitchen, family and morning rooms are all open to each other. This has made decorating them a bit of a challenge. But I believe I've made it work very nicely. Using silk greenery, baskets and shelves with a common birdhouse theme scattered throughout the large area has helped make it seem more cozy yet still quite spacious. The colour schemes in my open floor plan are light sage green and apricot with touches burgundy, reds and yellows. I've been able to keep some my beloved apple collection, that I've had for several years, as well. Never before have we had a seperate dinning room and now we do! It's been a pleaseure taking the time to purchase just the right furniture for it. I chose a "pub" style arrow back darker oak table and chairs (the style mirrors that of my moring room set) and they'll look lovely against the apricot and sage walls, once I get them painted LOL!
One of my favourite artists is Barbara Mock. Her style and colour choices are lovely. All the the prints I have in my dinning and morning rooms are all designs of hers
Even though my family room is open to the kitchen and morning rooms. The artwork in the family room section of the great room are Biblical based and again they are from Home Interiors. There tones are deep green and peach and coordinate nicely with the open floor plan

As much as it pains me, our little girl Rebecca is not a little girl anymore, she's all grown up. Her room is no longer pink and sweet as it once was, it's now turquoise blue and kiwi green with a beach theme
Our son Jarrod's room is blue and gold with a mild solar system theme
The kids bath is done in a fish theme. It's pretty basic actually. Since it's a small room, all I've really done so far is hang a few cute sea creatures on the walls and the shower curtain outer fabric liner has cute fish swimming around hanging off of adorable fish hangers I found on ebay

I don't feel it's right to decorate a master bedroom in frills and lace, or as my husband calles it "foo foo", so he and I have both chosen the décor for our master bedroom. Our choice was American wildlife. Again there is a combination of framed artwork and porcelain. For Father's Day a few years ago, I gave Chris a stunning Grizzly bear fishing for salmon. He in return for Mother's Day, presented me with a beautiful mother cougar and two her cubs. The artwork in our room varies from an eagle preparing to land on a perch, to a waterfall in a canyon
Our master bath is done is done in a lighthouse theme. I'm not much of a sewer, so I purchased some beautiful lighthouse/nautical fabric and found an awesome lady on ebay to make me a swag set for the window and a couple of valances and a "shower" curtain that I use to give an defination to the garden tub area. I kept the seperate shower area free of curtains. I purchased some accessores here and there, but kept things simple. To add little touches here and there, I "tea" staned some cording, then hot glued starfish and sand dollars to the cording and tied them to hang off the curtians. In the near future I want to purchase a large static cling "etched glass" oval to apply to the clear glass shower door
Soon I hope to have the time to take some photo's and post them here!
