A little bit about me

personal use only - NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN

Guess it's about time I tell a little bit about who "Laurie" is!...

I'm over 30 and under 50 ;), A woman of God, a wife of 22 (March 2009) years to the same wonderful man, a full-time mother of 2. Really, I'm a simple sort of person

No matter where I've lived I've always considered myself a New England girl at heart! Autumn is my favourite time of year. The beauty of the colour always amazes me

I enjoy being with my family, doing yard work (really I do!), even housework is NOT all that bad! The love of reading is something my mother instilled in me. I love romance and history, combine those and I'm there!

Curling up on the sofa with my hubby to watch a movie (with a BIG bowl of popcorn of course) is one of my favourite ways to spend a Saturday night. We are not much for "going out". My favourite actor is Sean Connery and my favourite actress is Diane Keaton. I enjoy just about any type of movie, Sci-Fi (Star Trek), thriller (Sleeping with the Enemy), action (Air Force One), horror (Silence of the Lambs). But my favourites are ROMANCE movies (The Holiday, Pretty Woman, Sleepless in Seattle)

My all time favourite pass-time is...FOOTBALL! Yes it's true, I *love* football! My first and formost favourite team shall always be the New England Patriots I have been watching them since I can remember with my Dad when I was growing up in New England

My favourite shows to watch on tv are - Hells Kitchen, CSI, Lost and Survivor

Some of my hobbies are - making dried and silk flower wreaths, cross stitch, decorating T-shirts, card making with stamps and stickers and of course scrap booking!

As you may have already seen, I enjoy making country style graphics to decorate my own cyberhome. I've recently re-opened my graphics shoppe at their domain! Please come by for a visit

In June of 2006 my husband retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of faithful service to his Country. I would never have thought that leaving the Military lifestyle would be as difficult as it has been. Having been surrounded by other Navy wives, who like me were far from family and friends, it was so easy to strike up friendships that have lasted through many moves across our great Nation. But now that we are settled in one place, in a town we've never lived in before, surrounded by people who choose to "keep to themselves", I find it so very difficult to make friends. After living here for just over 3 years, I've yet to make any real friends. Of course I'm "neighborly" with a few couples that live close, but that's not the same at all. Seems that I've moved to a town that is not very friendly. No matter where I go, I try to interact with people that I meet, but even that is hard to do when other's are unwilling to even be curtious. So for now I continue to keep to myself, take care of my family, draw graphics and decorate our first home. Beliveing that one day soon I shall find a group of ladies that interested in starting a friendship :)

I would like to share a very personal story of mine at the following link. If you are under the age of 18 PLEASE do not read my story as it is not appropriate. It is a medical story dealing with the female reproductive system. It is NOT graphic in it's telling, but it is descriptive
